I’ve been thinking a lot about how this tragic event has shaken our community, especially when it comes to our younger generation. Levaughn Morris had so much life ahead of him, and it's devastating to know it was cut short due to something that might have been preventable. I can't help but wonder what led to a situation where teenagers are handling guns in the first place. There has been some discussion about how accessible firearms are, particularly to young people in Milwaukee. It seems like a systemic issue that needs more attention. How can we as a community create safe spaces for our youth, where they don't feel the need to resort to guns or violence? What kinds of programs or interventions exist, or should exist, to prevent such tragic events from happening? It's crucial that we focus on proactive measures to protect our kids and help them make safer choices. My deepest sympathies go out to Levaughn’s family and all who knew him. Let’s hope that through discussions like these, we can push for change before another young life is senselessly lost.
