It's so incredibly sad to witness another young life lost to gun violence. While much of the focus has been on the shooting itself, I've been thinking about the attendees who were there to simply enjoy a summer night with friends. The transition from laughter and music to chaos and fear must have been terrifying for everyone involved. Teen gatherings should be places of joy, not tragedy. My heart goes out to the survivors, especially that 15-year-old boy and all those young people who sustained injuries. The psychological scars from such an event can be long-lasting, and I sincerely hope they have access to the support and counseling they might need. This incident reminds us how quickly things can spiral out of control, and it's crucial that as a community, we demand stricter safety measures and more youth outreach programs. Praying for healing and justice for Amera and all affected.
