I've been following the tragic case of Marquell Newburn, and something that's been really sticking out to me is the location where this all happened. The intersection at North 48th Street and West Center Street is an area I'm somewhat familiar with, and it's unsettling to think such a devastating event took place there. It's a neighborhood where so many families live and kids play. I wonder if the community is organizing any efforts to create safer spaces for children or if neighbors are discussing ways to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. Rest in peace, Marquell. My thoughts are with his family and friends as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Hopefully, we can find ways to come together and make a real change for the future.
