I’ve been following John Welles’ case for a while, and something about the involvement of the teenager in 2006 really sticks with me. It's baffling that her statement wasn’t given more attention back then. She mentioned that her ex-boyfriend had specific knowledge about the gun used, which sounds pretty significant to me. Why wasn’t this pursued thoroughly at the time? I can’t help but feel for John’s family, knowing there might have been an opportunity to bring some clarity or even justice, and it slipped away. Given the complexity of the case, it seems like every lead should have been explored to the fullest. Whether accidental or not, there's no undoing the loss, but understanding what happened that day could mean so much to his loved ones. Anyone have thoughts on why this lead wasn’t taken more seriously? It just feels like pieces of the puzzle are still missing.
