Hi everyone,
I've been following the tragic case of Lucas Candy and his family, and it’s just so difficult to comprehend. I've been thinking a lot about the younger son who survived. The strength it must have taken for a 10-year-old to wake up to such a traumatic scene and have the presence of mind to call 911 is just unimaginable.
It's so important to rally around him now and offer as much support as possible. I hope he's surrounded by people who can help him process this and find some semblance of peace in time. Given his age, I imagine school must be incredibly tough right now, and that can sometimes bring its own set of challenges.
Does anyone know if there are local resources or community efforts to support him and others impacted? Perhaps something beyond what the school district is offering?
Sending love and prayers to all affected by this tragedy.

Has anyone come across any info on how the youngest son is coping after this tragedy? My heart goes out to him. It’s unimaginable to wake up to such a scene at such a young age. It's like his whole world has shattered overnight. I can’t stop thinking about the impact this must have on him. I saw that the Mustang Public Schools are offering counseling, but I hope he has a strong support system around him too. It's difficult to fathom what he's going through. If anyone has heard about any local group effort to help the little guy or ways the community is rallying around him, please share. Being only 10, he probably doesn't fully grasp everything right now, but he’ll need all the love and support in the long run. Let's keep sharing info on how we can help.
I've been thinking a lot about Lucas Candy's school life since this tragedy. I didn't know Lucas personally, but some community members have shared bright stories about his time at Meadow Brook Intermediate. It's truly devastating to think about how this young boy and his classmates were directly impacted by this nightmare.
I've read that Mustang Public Schools immediately offered counseling to students and affected families, but I can't help but wonder if there's more we can do to support those kids who lost a friend. Losing a peer at such a young age is so incredibly confusing and painful. If you're a parent or know one, maybe it's worth checking in with your kids a bit more these days? Let them express any fears or confusion they might be carrying.
Sending out so much love and support to everyone in this community who is grieving this unimaginable loss. The kids, families, and all the school staff who are trying to pick up the pieces right now—they all need our collective strength.
