Hey everyone,
I'm still in shock over what happened in Yakima, especially the loss of Roy Knoeb Jr. I was reading through some local news articles and something that stood out to me was Roy's love for the outdoors and yardwork. It seems like he was someone who found peace in the simple things, something a lot of us can relate to. His neighbor mentioned that Roy was a regular at that Circle K, and I can't help but think about how those routine stops, part of his daily life, ended so tragically.
I can't even begin to imagine what his family is going through, especially his son, who spoke so lovingly about him. It's hard knowing that such a random and senseless act took away someone who was just going about his daily routine. I really hope the community can come together to support Roy's family during this unimaginably difficult time. It's a stark reminder of how precious life is and how quickly it can be changed.
Does anyone have suggestions on how we, as a community or individuals, can show support for the families affected by this tragedy?
Has anyone looked into the surveillance footage more closely? It’s unsettling thinking about the randomness of it all, especially for Yakima, which isn't known for such extreme violence. I keep thinking about that early morning inside the Circle K and the sheer terror Roy Knoeb Jr. and Nikki Godfrey experienced. They were just going about their day, and it's mind-boggling that someone with a history of drug use like Haddock could unleash so much chaos. How had his addiction flown under the radar? And how could we as communities catch signs earlier or offer support to prevent something like this? My heart goes out to Roy Knoeb Jr.'s family and all who loved him. It feels like such an immense loss.
