Has anyone else been looking into the background of the neighborhood where the Asker family lived? I can't get over the tragic loss of Calissa and Isabelle. Just devastating. From what I’ve gathered, the area around W. Woodside Ave., near Salk Middle School, has always been considered pretty peaceful. I’m wondering if there were any warning signs or anything out of the ordinary in the weeks leading up to this horrible event. Local community members say the family was somewhat private, but you can’t help but wonder about any potential stressors they might have been experiencing.
It’s so incredibly sad to think about what those little girls went through. My heart goes out to anyone who knew them—friends, family, neighbors. If anyone has any more information about the broader context here, I'd love to hear your thoughts. It's just such a reminder to take mental health seriously and watch for signs, even when everything seems calm and normal from the outside.
I’ve been following the discussion about Calissa, Isabelle, and their mother Michelle, and after the vigil, I couldn’t shake a thought from my mind. It’s hard to comprehend the unfathomable pain this family must have been experiencing.
I lived a few blocks away and walked by their house almost daily, never imagining the turmoil that might have been hidden behind those walls. It’s chilling to think we often don't recognize signs of distress in others until it's too late.
I hope this tragedy sparks conversations in our community about supporting families and individuals who may be in crisis. If anyone has suggestions or resources on how to approach these difficult situations, especially when it comes to detecting the signs of mental health issues, please share. My heart goes out to all who knew the Asker family. This is a wound that will take a long time to heal in our community.
