Has anyone else been following the DNA evidence in the Dameka Ross case closely? It just boggles my mind how those little pieces of genetic material can change the whole course of a trial. I can't stop thinking about that cigarette butt they found at the scene. I mean, it seems like such a crucial piece since it had DNA from the injured man and another unknown male, but none from Steven Lamar Miller. Why is no one talking about possibly tracking down whoever that unknown DNA belongs to? I know DNA isn't always the end-all-be-all, but it can be pretty persuasive. That said, it breaks my heart for Dameka's family that her case feels unresolved and there's still an air of mystery. I can't even imagine the frustration of hearing "not guilty" for the murder charges when you believe justice hasn't been fully served. Does anyone have insights on how DNA evidence might be revisited in future appeals or investigations?
