So glad this family finally got some closure. Interesting story, they found his remains just 3 months after he went missing but couldn't make a positive ID. They called in an anthropology professor who was able to make a positive match through dental records, bone chemistry and DNS sampling from his parents.

I am glad too. Not the outcome that was hoped for but the wondering is so painful.

I was going through some articles about Robert J. Eaton, and something caught my attention. It's puzzling to me why he arranged for an Uber pickup the morning after his casino visit. If he intended to leave early or had plans the next day, wouldn't he have wanted to keep his phone with him? Maybe it’s related to his struggles with schizophrenia, but it's still odd. Does anyone think he might have changed his mind about that pickup and decided to leave on his own for some reason? It's heartbreaking to see families go through this kind of uncertainty, and I hope they find answers soon. Also, if anyone here has experience with cases involving mental health issues, does that factor typically affect the investigation's direction or lead to assumptions that might otherwise not be considered?
Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions that night in Elizabeth, Indiana? I was curious, so I checked historical weather data for February 20, 2022, and it looks like it was a pretty mild night. No significant storms or adverse conditions were reported that could have caused issues for Robert J. Eaton. This might not seem important, but sometimes harsh weather can delay searches or make it easier for someone to get lost or disoriented. Seems like that wasn't the case here, though, but could it have impacted anyone's memory of seeing him that night? Just thinking out loud here—every little detail might help jog someone's memory or lead to a new area to search. Thoughts?
