Seeing something like this happen so close to home is beyond upsetting. I want to talk a bit about how the community is reacting to Isaac Cabrera's loss. It’s incredible to see the Madison and Willoughby communities coming together to support Isaac's family. I attended a vigil last night, and it was a powerful reminder of the impact Isaac had on those around him. There were so many people sharing stories about how positive and driven he was. From his teachers to friends, everyone described him as someone who lit up a room and was always eager to lend a helping hand. The outpouring of love and solidarity has been moving. It raises the essential question of how we can prevent such senseless violence in our communities. I hope this tragedy can spark conversations that lead to meaningful changes in how we address gun violence, particularly among youth. It's a painful reminder of how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. Keeping the Cabrera family in my thoughts as they navigate this difficult journey.
