I've been following the case of Sadie Hill, and it's just so tragic to think about how quickly things can escalate to such a violent end. I was struck by the fact that Sadie had only recently moved to Albuquerque from Lebanon, NH. It must have been such a big change for her, leaving behind her hometown and familiar faces. It's devastating that her life ended so far from the people and places she knew best. I can't help but wonder what led up to that moment at the apartment complex, and what could have been done differently. My heart goes out to her family and friends. They lost someone so special far too soon, and I hope they find the strength to get through this difficult time. I also hope that, moving forward, there can be more conversation about preventing such violence from happening again. It's a sobering reminder of how fragile life can be.
