I've been following the case of Charles "Motor" Vereen for a while now, and every time I think about it, I'm struck by how deeply it has affected those who knew him. It's evident that Motor wasn't just a victim; he was a beloved member of his community. From the stories shared by friends and family, you can see how his positivity and community involvement left a lasting impact. I find it so frustrating that after all these years, his family still doesn't have answers.
I read somewhere that he had a love for fixing cars, which I guess is why everyone called him "Motor." It seems like there’s a wealth of untapped leads in such a well-connected community where everyone knew him. I really hope that someone, somewhere, who may have seen or heard something comes forward. It's a long shot, but stranger things have happened in cold cases.
The work that Project Cold Case and others are doing to keep his story in the public eye is so important. While I can't imagine the pain his family continues to endure, I hope they feel the community standing beside them. Justice for Charles means so much to many people, not just those who were lucky enough to know him but also to those of us who believe every victim deserves justice. Fingers crossed that one day, hopefully soon, they'll find the answers they’ve been searching for.
