I've been following the terrible events surrounding the shooting at Pocket Change, and one aspect that stands out to me is how Rona and her friends were simply going about their lives when they were caught up in such senseless violence. It’s devastating to think how random and unfair life can be. From what I’ve read, it seemed like Rona and Summer were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, becoming collateral damage in a conflict they had no part in. My heart goes out to their families who must be grappling with so many unanswered questions and a void that can never be filled.
I also wanted to highlight the courage of Sam for coming back from such an ordeal, especially when attacked twice by someone with such a violent history. It’s horrifying that there were so many signs of danger, yet still this tragedy unfolded. I hope justice is served and that Rona and Summer's loved ones can find some peace in knowing the alleged perpetrator is behind bars.
Has anyone else been looking into the background of Jason Manuel? I was digging around and came across his prior convictions, which definitely raise some eyebrows. It’s chilling to think about how someone with such a history was out and about. His 2004 conviction for murder and aggravated mayhem in California should have been a red flag. It makes me wonder how he slipped through the cracks and ended up being able to harm these innocent people. My heart goes out to Rona and Summer's families. It’s such a senseless loss, and I can’t imagine what they’re going through knowing this could have been prevented if the system had done its job. Hoping for justice and some peace for everyone affected.
