Has anyone else looked into how the Norgaard plea works? I’ve been following the Mary Corneliusen case, and it struck me when David accepted this plea. From what I understand, it lets a defendant plead guilty while claiming to lack memory of the crime due to intoxication or mental illness. It just seems so perplexing to me. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for Mary's loved ones, having to process such a complex legal maneuver amidst the grief of losing her. Understanding the ins and outs of this legal aspect might bring some clarity, but it also raises questions about how justice is truly served in such cases. Does anyone have more insights or opinions on how these pleas play out in court?
