I can't stop thinking about the impact this horrific event has had on the children who were also victims of the Sugar Street shooting. It's so painful to think about young lives exposed to such violence. While Latounda's family mourns a beloved sister, daughter, and friend, we can't ignore the trauma that these young kids will carry for the rest of their lives. I've been reading about the organizations in Shreveport trying to provide counseling and support for families affected by gun violence, and it brings a mix of relief and frustration. It's crucial, yet it's such a shame that this has become an essential service. Latounda's death was such a tragic loss, and I hope those children receive all the emotional care they need to heal from this senseless violence. Has anyone else heard anything about the community initiatives to help these young victims? It would be heartening to know if there are ways for us to support them in these difficult times.
