I’ve been thinking a lot about Semaj Irvin Wells and the community in New Iberia since this tragedy happened. It's unimaginable what his friends and family are going through right now. What's been on my mind lately is the role of community support during such times. New Iberia is a tight-knit community, and I wonder how local organizations or neighbors might be coming together to offer help or seek justice for Semaj. I've read about other cases where community involvement played a significant role in bringing attention to cases, and maybe that's something needed here. Does anyone know if there have been any recent vigils, marches, or outreach by local groups? It would be comforting to know that there’s a network of support rallying around his loved ones and calling for answers. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. Stay strong, New Iberia.
