Has anyone else noticed how the community in Shreveport seems to be at a tipping point? The loss of DeMorie LaRay Williams is another stark reminder of how urgent the situation with gun violence has become. I didn't know DeMorie personally, but from what I've read, he was loved by many. Losing a young life like his is a wound that doesn't heal easily for those who knew him. It’s beyond frustrating to see how these senseless acts have become almost commonplace. Does anyone know if there have been any community-led initiatives in response to these tragedies? I feel that local efforts might be a piece of the puzzle in turning things around. We can't change the past, but surely, there's something we can do to prevent stories like DeMorie’s from becoming the norm. Love to his friends and family during this tough time.
