Just wondering if anyone else finds it odd that John Piekarz didn’t try to find help sooner when he got back to the car? I mean, getting to the car by 11 p.m. and then just deciding to sleep in the trailhead bathroom instead of trying to signal for help somehow seems a bit strange to me. Was there no way to try and get the attention of other hikers or campers nearby? Or maybe flag down a car if anyone happened to pass by? I’m not trying to blame him or anything, but it feels like there were missed opportunities for him to get assistance earlier. What do others think about this?
