I am his mother. I am desperate for answers and feel like nothing is being done. They know whom shot my son. The police told me that the man in the charger that was also shot that ended up at the marathon admitted to shooting my unarmed son. So i don't understand why it is still being listed as an open case. I dont understand why this man is not in jail and is free to spend christmas with his family while me and my remaining two kids are suffering. There is no Christmas because im struggling to pay bills. 3 day bereavement is a joke. I don't know who to reach out to for answers because i’m not getting them. Idk maybe a lawyer is the best resource. Thank you for the support. I want to really say thank you to wilkerson elementary school where my youngest attends. Their support and resources has been everything and more than I could have ever hoped for. Weve lost our entire family starting with my husband over the last 6 years. Its just me and my now two kids left. My son was making poor choices but this incident was a lethal show of force against an unarmed kid on foot. They are trying to say the guy feared for his life stating the stand your ground law. How fearful was you in your vehicle, a grown man with your gun against a kid on foot unarmed. Never would I ever get so triggered over a $20 loss that I would pull my gun out and shoot anyone. Let alone an unarmed kid. Get out beat his ass maybe, but shoot them? Hell no.

Has anyone been following the details about Tariq Jabbar’s case and the discrepancies in the initial reports? I just can't wrap my head around how something like the description of the victim could be misreported. It's so crucial to get these facts right in the beginning, especially for the sake of the investigation and his family. It must be incredibly distressing for them to deal with conflicting information while grappling with such a huge loss. I hope the authorities can sort this out quickly so it doesn’t add more confusion to an already tragic situation. Meanwhile, I appreciate how the community is rallying to support by lighting virtual candles to remember Tariq. It's touching to see people come together like this in the wake of such senseless violence. Hopefully, this brings attention to the broader issue of gun violence affecting young lives in our city. Anyone else have thoughts on the importance of these corrections and gestures of support?

I’ve been following the case of Tariq Jabbar, and what stands out to me is the uncertainty surrounding the early reports about his identity. It’s been mentioned that initial reports described him as a white male, but that might not be correct. This kind of misinformation can be really frustrating, not just for those following the case, but especially for the family and friends who are in immense pain right now. It’s important for everyone to stay patient until the facts are confirmed, though I can only imagine how difficult that must be when you’re desperate for answers. Has anyone heard if the family or community is doing anything locally, like memorials or marches, to honor Tariq and address the broader issue of gun violence? I'm curious about how the community is coming together to support each other and work towards change. It's crucial these voices are heard for real progress to happen.

Its not just the gun violence but more support for underage addiction as well. I found out first hand how lacking they are not to mention the corruptness going on in the few we have. I wish i could find a way to make some changes with both. Ive no idea where to start. Our youth needs more support. More things to keep busy and out of trouble. Stricter punishments when they do break the law so when they turn 18 its not a straight trip to jail. These kids are getting slaps on the wrist and they are laughing about it. If we want change we have to care more and work together to incite some real progress. These issues affect our entire community whether you realize it or not. The increase in school shootings prove that.
