Hey everyone, I can't stop thinking about the devastating loss of Marcel and Deja in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Has anyone else been reflecting on the little memorial that's sprung up at the corner of NE 22nd and Lombard? I walked by earlier today and saw all the flowers and candles. It was incredibly moving to see how much love and respect people in the community had for both Marcel and Deja. Marcel's sister, Alexis, mentioned how deeply involved he was in the community - and it looks like that's really true from all the heartfelt notes left there. It's just so painful to imagine the impact of this tragedy, especially for Marcel’s young son. No child should have to grow up without their parent, and my thoughts go out to him and the rest of Marcel and Deja’s families. Has anyone heard about any upcoming vigils or gatherings to honor them? I think coming together as a community could be a powerful way to support the families during such an incredibly difficult time. Stay safe, everyone. If anyone hears anything about the investigation, please share.

I've been following this tragic case closely and wanted to express my deepest sympathies to the families of Marcel Bryant and Deja Willingham. It's just such a senseless act of violence—too many lives cut short, and a community left in mourning. I was particularly moved by the tributes Marcel's friends and family have organized. Lighting candles in his memory at the National Gun Violence Memorial was a beautiful way to honor him. It's a reminder of the positive impact he made on those around him, and how communities can come together in support even during the toughest times. If anyone in the neighborhood has even the slightest piece of information, I urge you to reach out to the detectives handling the case. It's crucial we come together to help bring justice for Marcel and Deja. Keeping their loved ones in my thoughts.

Is anyone else troubled by how this case seems to be getting colder each day? I was watching coverage about Marcel Bryant and couldn't help but think about his son. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it must be for him to lose his father so suddenly and tragically. Marcel sounds like he was the kind of man who stepped up for his family, especially after his mother's passing, and the loss of such a supportive figure is gut-wrenching. I’m hopeful that Marcel's legacy will motivate the community to come forward with any information about what happened that night. The intersection of Northeast 22nd Avenue and Northeast Lombard Street must have been bustling around that time—someone must have seen or heard something. We need to speak up to bring justice for Marcel and Deja. If you heard or saw anything, please reach out to Detective Law or Detective Foote. Let’s not let this slip through the cracks.
