I’m absolutely gutted to hear about the loss of Jashaun Smith on his birthday of all days. It’s hard to fathom the grief his family and friends must be feeling right now. I’ve been reading through the various reports and trying to wrap my head around how something like this could happen in our community. One thing that really stands out to me is how often surveillance footage becomes a crucial part of solving crimes like these. Considering how common cameras are nowadays, I really hope there's some video evidence that can help piece together what happened on Michigan Avenue. If anyone's in the area or knows someone who might have caught something on their home or business cameras, please don’t hesitate to share it with the authorities. Every little bit helps. Sending love and strength to Jashaun’s family and those affected by this terrible act. Let's hope justice is served swiftly.
