I’ve been following the case of Bryce Andrew Brown ever since it first made the news, and there are just so many layers to the tragedy that unfolded that day. What got me thinking is the role of social media and how it now seemingly serves as both an incriminating tool and a misguided outlet for bravado. The fact that Derek Reasor posted "Death before dishonor" on Instagram right after the incident is both chilling and telling. It makes you wonder about the mindset of these young individuals involved and how social media impacts their actions and decisions, possibly even fueling a sense of invincibility or detachment from reality. Bryce was so young, just beginning his adult life, and to have it snuffed out in such a manner is beyond comprehension. My heart truly goes out to his family and friends. The way technology intersects with crime nowadays adds a whole new dimension that wasn't there before, and I hope this case sheds light on its influence. Hoping justice is served for Bryce and that his family finds some peace amidst this nightmare.
