Hey everyone, I've been following this tragic situation involving Kiara Hootman and Travis Pennington, and it's been weighing heavy on my heart. One thing I can't stop thinking about is the role that technology played in tracking down the suspect, Armann Johnson. It amazes me, and also terrifies me a bit, how the police used a license plate reading camera to find Johnson's vehicle. It really highlights how tech can be both a benefit and a concern in our modern lives. I know that technology can't bring Kiara and Travis back, but at least it can help bring some justice for their families. It's just so unsettling to think about how fast things can escalate with someone who has harmful intentions, and the more I read, the more I hope that Kiara and Travis's families find comfort in the community rallying around them. Kind of makes you appreciate the small signs of progress in these harrowing situations, right? Would love to hear if anyone has thoughts on the growing use of such technology in solving crimes. Sending thoughts to everyone who knew and loved Kiara and Travis.
