I was reading up on the case of Milton Pillacela Ayora, and while there's so much about it that breaks you, one detail really got me. At the time of the shooting, Milton was on the phone with his brother. Can you even imagine getting a call like that, and then suddenly you're on the phone hearing those gunshots? It's chilling. My heart truly goes out to his brother and the rest of his family. Milton's story is so relatable, working so hard between being a bus boy during the day and driving for Lyft at night. He moved here from Ecuador, trying to build a better life, which makes this so much harder to wrap my head around. And now, with no arrests and his family left in this limbo, the injustice of it all just eats at me. I really hope there’s a breakthrough soon for everyone involved. Stay safe out there, everyone. It's a difficult world sometimes.
