I’ve been thinking a lot about the gun laws after hearing about what happened to Jerman Beathea at that party in Macomb. It's really unsettling to know that ghost guns are becoming more and more common. How do these even end up in the hands of people? It’s frightening to think a gun that’s untraceable could be assembled and used so easily. This kind of thing makes it feel like we're all less safe. My heart goes out to Jerman’s family and friends, and all those who were injured. I can't imagine the shock they must be feeling. I hope the community can come together and push for changes to prevent things like this from happening in the future.

I find it distressing to think about how easily a celebration turned into such a tragedy. My heart goes out to Jerman Beathea’s loved ones and all the others affected by this senseless act of violence. Has anyone else been following the hearings? The case against Donnel D. Williams featuring a ghost gun adds such a chilling layer to this. Ghost guns aren't the typical firearms you'd expect in situations like this, and it makes me anxious to think about how many more like it might be out there, potentially untraceable. Hopefully, their use isn’t becoming a trend. Does anyone have insight into how common these are in smaller communities like Macomb? It seems like recovering post-events like this would be so much harder with the uncertainty surrounding where such weapons are coming from. My thoughts are really with the students and community members trying to navigate through this—hoping for healing and justice for everyone involved.
