Hey everyone, I've been following Derrick Glenn Echols Jr.'s case and wanted to share some thoughts. It's beyond tragic what happened to Derrick, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who have to endure this unimaginable loss. I wish there were more details about what happened to him, but all we know is that he was taken from this world by gun violence—something that's tearing apart so many communities. What really struck me was finding out about the National Gun Violence Memorial—such a poignant way for loved ones to keep Derrick's memory alive. It's a small comfort, I guess, but each candle lit and memory shared not only keeps him in our thoughts but also reminds us of the devastating impact of gun violence. Hopefully, this helps in raising more awareness and can someday drive change. Keeping Derrick’s family in my thoughts and hoping for justice to eventually find its way. If anyone has more info or thoughts on how we can collectively push for more safety and change in our communities, I'd love to discuss ideas. Stay safe, everyone.
