Has anyone here looked into the community response to Trey’s passing? I've heard that the neighborhood is really coming together, setting up vigils and rallies to raise awareness about the violence in East St. Louis. It’s deeply touching to see the outpouring of support for Trey’s family. It’s clear that he was loved deeply by those around him, and I can't imagine the pain they’re going through. If anyone knows more about the actions being taken to keep his memory alive or efforts to seek justice, I’d love to hear about it. We need more stories of communities uniting like this, even though the circumstances are so tragic.

I've been thinking a lot about Trey’s little son, Deontrus Jr., during all of this. It's hard to process that a child so young will grow up without knowing his father personally, only through the stories and memories shared by family and friends. I can’t even imagine the void that might leave in his life and in the lives of his mother, Rickea, and the rest of his family. From what I’ve read and heard, Trey was a beacon of joy and warmth. People seem to speak of him with such love and admiration. I truly hope that the community can come together to support his family during these challenging times. Stories like Trey's are far too common, and it's time there is a change. Justice needs to be served, not only for Trey’s sake but to bring a sense of peace and closure to his loved ones. I've been following Trey Gilmore's case, and it just tears me apart to see another life senselessly lost to gun violence. What stood out to me about Trey was his love for working with his hands. It's obvious that this was a source of pride and joy for him, and I imagine he must have taken a lot of pleasure in sharing the fruits of his labor with his family. It's so sad to think that his son won't get to know his dad's passion for life and the love he had for his family. I hope the authorities can find some leads soon. Trey's family, especially his young son, deserves answers and justice. Let's keep discussing and sharing information in the hope that it can drive attention to his unsolved case.
