Just been thinking about how important it is for communities to rally around victims’ families after such unimaginable tragedies. The response from New Baden following Alexis Maki's awful murder has been nothing short of a testament to their strength and unity. It stands out to me that even in moments of profound sadness, there's a light in how everyone is supporting each other to honor Alexis's memory. One thing I find particularly touching is the way her college friends at Kaskaskia are setting up a scholarship in her name. It's a beautiful way to ensure her legacy continues to inspire others.
