A part of this case that's been haunting me is Justen's phone call to the Joliet police from that OfficeMax parking lot. I can't stop thinking about what must have been going through his mind. It seems like something snapped inside him, leading to this tragic outcome. I feel deeply for Bernadette and the senseless loss her family is enduring right now. I try to picture Justen, sitting alone in his car, filled with shock and remorse, contemplating the irreversible consequences of his actions. It's almost like he didn't fully grasp what had happened until he confessed. There's no excuse for what he did, but that moment of realization must have been overwhelming. This entire situation highlights how critical it is to have mental health support and conflict resolution resources available. My heart goes out to all who loved Bernadette, and I hope they can find some sort of peace amidst this nightmare. ?
