I’ve been following Anthony Smith's case, and my heart goes out to his older brother, Semaj. It's incredibly tough to imagine being in his shoes, having to shoulder such intense responsibility so young. Not only did he step up to care for his brothers at 16, but now he's faced with this unimaginable loss and has to find a way to give Anthony the farewell he deserves.
I noticed that Semaj set up a GoFundMe, hoping to gather support for Anthony’s funeral expenses. I think this is where community compassion really shines through. I’ve seen donations coming in, and it’s touching to see people, even strangers, helping to lift some of the financial weight off Semaj’s shoulders. It's so important for us to support young folks like him who are doing their best in the face of adversity.
To anyone reading this who might want to help, even spreading the word can make a difference. Semaj’s family is trying to hold things together, and every little bit counts. Let’s be there for our community and stand against the violence tearing families apart.
