I can't get Johnnetta Smith out of my mind since I first heard about the tragic events in Peoria. It pains me to think about what her family and friends are going through. I heard she was taken to the hospital, but despite all efforts, she didn't make it. From what I gathered, the whole thing was so abrupt and violent, and I can only imagine how those close to her are coping with the loss. What catches my attention is the suspect, Kenten Watkins. He was identified so swiftly, and the connection to the subsequent shooting seems to suggest something troubling was going on with him. The fact that he took his own life shortly afterward makes me wonder about his state of mind leading up to this. Why did it escalate to the point of such terrible actions? I’m curious if we'll ever truly understand what drove him to commit these acts. There's just so much grief left in the wake of these events. My heart goes out to everyone affected, especially the communities on Republic and Sodus Court. It’s hard to wrap my head around how moments of violence like this can deeply impact so many lives. How are others feeling about this? Is there any ongoing community support for those who need it?
