I can't stop thinking about what the community must be going through after losing someone as dedicated as Jalen Curtis. From what I've read about him, he seemed to have such a promising future, and it's just so unfair that his life was taken away so suddenly. His aunt mentioned he was a hard worker, and I can't help but imagine how proud he must have made his family.
I also wonder how this has affected young people in the area who looked up to him. Having someone so young and driven be a victim of such violence must be incredibly difficult to process. Communities often come together in times of tragedy, and I hope the tributes and memorials for Jalen offer some comfort to his loved ones.
Does anyone have more information on how the neighborhood and local organizations might be helping the families cope or any initiatives underway to address community safety? Sharing any updates or resources could be helpful for those of us who want to support them from afar.

Did anyone else notice how close in time the two shootings occurred? Less than 10 minutes apart! It makes me wonder if this was premeditated or if something escalated quickly that morning. It's just so surreal to think about how one moment people can be living their lives, and the next, everything changes drastically. I feel for the friends and family of Jalen Curtis. His aunt's words paint a picture of a young man who had so much potential and a bright future ahead. One cannot help but wonder how his story could have unfolded differently.
