I can't stop thinking about the bravery of Demario's family during this incredibly tough time. Losing someone so suddenly and violently must be unimaginably painful. But what stands out to me is how they've consistently spoken out about the destructive effects of gun violence, even while grappling with their own loss. It’s truly inspiring to see them channeling their grief into advocacy, hoping to prevent other families from experiencing the same heartbreak. The arrest of Deangielo Hawthorne must bring a small measure of relief, but it doesn’t erase the pain or fill the void left by Demario. I hope for nothing less than full justice for Demario and peace for his family. They've shown immense strength, and I really admire their commitment to keeping his legacy alive. Sending prayers and love to the Bates family. ?
