Has anyone else dug into the old news archives about Cathy Rubar's disappearance? I found some articles from back in the day, but they seem pretty sparse on details. It's frustrating how little coverage there was considering how young she was. I wonder if anyone from her high school or neighborhood ever came forward with memories or information. Sometimes those personal stories can shake loose a forgotten detail or two. Has anyone come across interviews or public statements from her family or friends? Maybe with today’s social media, there might be a chance to connect with someone who knew her back then. Thoughts?
Has anyone else come across old newspaper articles about Cathy Rubar's disappearance? I was doing some digging in the Houston Chronicle archives and found a few brief mentions from the time she went missing, but nothing detailed. It's strange how little media coverage there seems to have been back then. I wonder if this was common for missing persons cases during the 70s. It's frustrating that there hasn't been more attention on her case over the years. If anyone else has found articles or has access to other archives, could you share what you've found? It might help us piece together more about her case.
I've been digging into Cathy Rubar's case lately, and I can't stop thinking about the lack of coverage it received back in the day. It's baffling how an 18-year-old can vanish without a trace and hardly anyone seems to know about it. I read somewhere that missing persons cases from the '70s often didn't get the urgency or media attention they truly needed—especially if there were no immediate signs of foul play. I can't help but wonder if things would have been different had social media existed back then. Perhaps more eyes on her case could've brought forward witnesses or jogged someone's memory. It's so frustrating to see a young person like Cathy just disappear and the world keep spinning as if nothing happened. For those familiar with local media from that era, was there any coverage at all?
