Hi all, I am the niece of Gary Harper. He disappeared with Lee Luoma. I am actively investigating their case in hopes to find answers or anything to shed light on what happened to them. I am open to any and all ideas. I have Facebook and instagram accounts set up under Find Gary Harper and Lee Luoma. The only information I have is from the sheriff report and what stories I remember growing up. Unfortunately his Mother and Father as well as siblings have since passed so it makes it a little harder. But, I’m trying! I am happy to find him being mentioned on various platforms, it’s heart warming when all I see are dead ends. Thanks so much! -Abbey ([email protected])

Abbey,

When I get some free time here, I will do some digging and see what I am able to find.

It is very odd considering the size of the town they both vanished from.

Id love to read any information you have already compiled on the case as well so I don't pursue leads that go nowhere.

Feel free to reach out anytime.

Christina

Hey everyone,
I was reading about Gary Harper's disappearance from Port Orford, Oregon, back in 1976, and something struck me. In small towns like Port Orford, news tends to travel fast, and everyone knows everyone’s business. So, I've been curious about what was going on in Gary’s life before he went missing. Was there anyone he spent a lot of time with, or did he have a particular place he'd frequently visit?
Sometimes, casual friendships or hangout spots can hold clues. I'm wondering if anyone local back then recalls Gary being with a specific friend or group before he vanished. Even after all these years, such details could shed light on his activities and maybe even offer new angles that haven’t been explored. It's a long shot, but sometimes revisiting the social aspects of a person's life can bring up things that were overlooked initially. Thoughts?
Thanks for any insights or memories you might be able to share!
Has anyone looked into whether Gary Harper might have had any connections outside of Port Orford? I've been diving into some old records and archival news, but there's not much out there on his personal life or details about his relationships. It's like he vanished without much trace, and the fact that no foul play has been officially suspected makes me wonder if he might've just up and left or had plans outside the area. I know it's been decades, but sometimes these cases hinge on hidden details in their social circles. Maybe he had friends or acquaintances no one in town really knew about? It feels like there should be more to uncover about what was going on in his life during that time. Anyone else have ideas or seen anything I might have missed?
Hey everyone, I've been digging into Gary Harper's case from back in 1976 and noticed something curious about the timing of his disappearance. I came across an old forum that mentioned a few other unsolved cases from that era in Oregon. I wonder if there’s any possibility that local events during that time might have impacted his disappearance or any connection to other missing persons from around that same time.
The late '70s was a tumultuous period, both socially and politically, and I'm thinking there could be some context we're missing. Does anyone know if there were patterns in disappearances around the Port Orford area or statewide that could offer clues? I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but sometimes looking at the broader picture can yield insights. Curious to hear thoughts or if anyone has explored this angle!
