The chaos that unfolded in Tallahassee on that dreadful day feels like a tragic culmination of events that had been simmering for a while. One thing that's been on my mind is the perspective of the little girl who witnessed this horror. I can’t even begin to imagine the trauma she must be experiencing after losing both her mom and her aunt in such a violent and senseless manner. It breaks my heart thinking about her future—how do you explain something so horrific to someone so young? The fact that she was the one to alert others by screaming and running outside just shows the level of terror she went through. How does a family even start to heal from something like this? Has anyone heard if there’s a fund or anything set up to help the family, especially for the children who are now without their mother? I hope they’re getting the support they need—from therapy professionals and from the community. Grief like this doesn’t just fade away; it lingers, and I wish nothing but strength and love for that little girl and her siblings.
