Has anyone else been following the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of the Jacksonville Dollar General shooting victims? I feel so deeply for Jerrald De'Shaun Gallion's loved ones, trying to find some semblance of justice after such a horrific act. It really makes you think about how businesses handle security in areas known to be high-risk. Was Dollar General doing enough to protect their patrons and staff? It feels like there was a big failure here. And then there’s Palmeter’s parents—what responsibility, if any, do they bear? I'm not a legal expert, but I think these are important questions to consider as we discuss ways to prevent such tragedies in the future. Hug your loved ones a little tighter, everyone. We owe it to people like Jerrald to work towards meaningful change.
