Has anyone here ever looked into the role of local media in Katherine Berry's case? It's surprising that a young woman disappearing on New Year's Day didn't seem to get the immediate media attention you'd expect. I've been digging through old newspaper archives, and while there are a few small articles and mentions, it doesn't seem like this case was ever given the spotlight it needed, especially in those critical early days. I can't help but wonder if more public interest and pressure back then might have made a difference in how the investigation unfolded. Does anyone else have thoughts on the impact that media attention, or the lack of it, might've had on the search efforts for Katherine?
I came across Katherine Elisabeth Berry's case while scrolling through NamUs, and I'm struck by how little information there is out there. Has anyone else noticed that? It’s like she vanished without a trace. I’m curious if there were any community efforts back in the day to search for her or raise awareness. Sometimes those old newspaper archives can have hidden gems because local stories don’t always make it to national headlines. It would be great if someone with access to historical records could dig deeper. Maybe there’s a piece of the puzzle we’re missing. I can’t imagine how tough it’s been for her family, especially her younger sister. Anyone know if there have been any podcasts or documentaries that mention Katherine? They can sometimes spark new interest in cold cases.
