Hey everyone, I've been digging into the mysterious case of Jhon Jairo Velosa Ardila, and something that caught my attention is the lack of information about his connections in New Jersey. It's been over three decades since he vanished on August 4, 1991, and I'm wondering if anyone has ever come across old letters or heard anything from people he might have known around the West New York/Moonachie area? With him frequently writing to family back in Colombia, there could have been folks around here who knew him or were aware of his plans. Do you think it's possible he had friends or was renting a room from someone who just never came forward? Maybe some locals during that time remember seeing him? It feels like there's a missing piece of the puzzle regarding his time in New Jersey. Anyone have thoughts or leads on this angle?
Did anyone else find it odd that Jhon was sending letters to his family in Colombia, but there's no mention of any phone calls? I know international calls were expensive back then, but still, wouldn't you think there might be at least one call logged around the time he was supposed to leave? Or maybe he preferred writing? It's so tough to piece things together when there's such limited info. I wonder if anyone else in his circle, neighbors or coworkers, might offer any insight into his day-to-day leading up to his disappearance. Also, if Jhon didn't have U.S. identification, his travel plans or movements shortly afterward could have been constrained—anyone looking deeper into his flight arrangements? Could be some unexplored leads.
