I’ve been following the case of Nicholas Taurent's tragic passing and something that stands out to me is the location of the incident. The Community Market on NW 5th Ave is a place where many in the community shop regularly, which makes this shooting feel incredibly close to home for a lot of people. I can only imagine how frightening it must be for the folks living nearby or visiting the market. It’s hard to understand how a simple trip to a local store can end in something so tragic. My heart goes out to Nicholas’s family and friends during this devastating time. Hoping justice is served for Nicholas and that whoever is responsible is brought to justice soon. If anyone reading this knows anything, no matter how small it might seem, please contact Detective John Caceres. Any details could help bring closure to those who loved Nicholas.
