Hey everyone,
I wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me a lot regarding Kentel Robinson’s case. It's been a tough journey for his family, I'm sure, and my heart goes out to them during this unimaginably difficult time. I read recently about the involvement of U.S. marshals in capturing Omar Nelson. It made me think about just how many resources and personnel were mobilized for this case.
It's somewhat reassuring to know that law enforcement put a lot of effort into bringing Kentel's alleged murderer into custody. However, it definitely sparks a conversation about the prevalence of such violence in New Haven, especially when incidents escalate over something as trivial as a PlayStation. The fact that this case got resolved might give us some hope, but it's also a sobering reminder of how things can go terribly wrong and how justice, while served, can't bring Kentel back.
Continuing this discussion might help us reflect on what can be done moving forward, both in our communities and in supporting grieving families. Thoughts appreciated. Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the tragic shooting of Kentel Robinson in New Haven earlier this year. It’s incredibly sad for the community and for those who knew him. I came across some information recently that Omar Nelson, the suspect in the case, was caught and charged. Authorities believe the motive was a dispute over a PlayStation. It’s devastating to think that something so trivial could escalate into such violence.
What I really wanted to discuss here is how Kentel's case sheds light on the broader issue of gun violence in neighborhoods like New Haven. It feels like each year, the headlines are filled with similar stories, and yet, the cycle continues. How can we, as a community, help prevent such senseless tragedies? Does anyone have ideas or know of organizations that are actively working to make a difference in these areas? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any resources you might suggest.
Let’s keep Kentel’s family in our thoughts and hope for a more peaceful future for our community.
