Hey everyone, I wanted to highlight something about James Washington’s murder that really struck me as odd and deserves more attention: the lack of security cameras in the area. Overtown is a busy neighborhood, and it’s surprising that there are so few surveillance videos from the night he was killed. You would think there’d be something, even from local businesses or traffic cams, that might provide a clue or timeline of events. It’s so unfortunate that this case remains cold due to what seems like a lack of evidence. It makes you wonder about the quality and reach of the camera network in that part of Miami at the time. For James’s family and friends, I can only wish that the police get a lucky break soon, maybe through an old camera feed someone forgot to check or a witness who remembers seeing something important. I hope anyone with information—no matter how minor it might seem—will find the courage to come forward. That small piece of the puzzle might be all that’s needed to finally give James a voice and bring some answers to his loved ones. We have to keep discussing, keep sharing his story. Just maybe, we can help generate the lead that makes all the difference. Stay safe, everyone.
