I can't stop thinking about how poorly the initial investigation was handled by the Edgewater Police. It's incredibly frustrating and upsetting for Adam Fresquez's family to have had to deal with such negligence in the wake of their loss. It makes you wonder how many other cases might have been mishandled in similar ways. The fact that vital evidence like fingerprints and gunshot residue was never collected is mind-boggling. It really highlights the need for proper training and protocols in handling crime scenes, especially in situations as serious as this one. My heart goes out to the Fresquez family for not only losing Adam in such a tragic way but also for having to fight so hard for justice. I hope the DA’s intervention leads to more accountability and thorough procedures in the future.
