I've been following the case of Lily Silva-Lopez, and my heart truly goes out to her family and the young brother who was caught in such a terrifying situation. I can't imagine the trauma he's enduring after witnessing such violence, especially when he was unable to reach 911. It's incredibly disturbing to see how youth relationships can escalate to such dangerous levels, and it really underscores the need for more awareness and resources around teen dating violence. It's not just the tragedy of losing Lily that's saddening, but also how her brother is now left to process such an unthinkable event. I'm hoping he's getting the support he needs from the community and trauma counselors. It’s a stark reminder for all of us to be vigilant about the warning signs in young relationships and to support those who might be in harm's way.
