Hey everyone, I was reading about Sgt. Moran's tragic death, and something that truly stood out to me was the community's response and the role of his canine partner, Otto. It's clear that Otto played a significant part in Sgt. Moran's career and life, having been by his side from 2016 to 2020. Can you imagine the bond they must have shared? A strong K-9 partnership like that often becomes a reflection of the handler's devotion and compassion, traits Moran seemed to be remembered for by everyone who knew him. It’s touching to see that even after Otto's retirement, the Cortez Police Department appreciated the legacy of their teamwork. I think it speaks volumes about Moran's character that his fellow officers organized such an honorable farewell. My thoughts are with his daughters and family, hoping they find comfort in the legacy he left behind. ? If anyone knows more about police K-9 service and how they cope with losing their handlers, I’d love to hear about it. It must be hard for them too. Stay safe, everyone.
