I can't stop thinking about the role of community safety measures when it comes to cases like Kelvin Hawkins'. It's so hard to believe that something like this could happen in a place people call home. The Stonewood Apartments must have been reeling after this incident. I feel deeply for Kelvin’s family and friends, and for all the residents who had to witness such a tragic event. What truly strikes me is the need for more robust neighborhood programs to prevent violence and create safer environments. While I'm hoping for swift justice and answers for Kelvin’s loved ones, I also hope this becomes a wake-up call for us to look into more preventive measures in our communities. Stay safe, everyone.
