I can't stop thinking about how the community gathered and marched through East Park on April 23, rallying together for peace and unity. It really struck a chord with me, seeing so many people come together in response to this wave of violence. Lashawn Deondre Shelton's death was yet another heartbreaking reminder of the toll this senseless violence takes on families and friends. It’s clear that Beckley residents are desperate for change and demanding action against the growing gun and drug problems. What really amazes me is the strength of the community in such difficult times. I hope these marches and meetings can lead to real change and prevent further tragedies. What do you all think will need to happen to bring lasting peace to Beckley?
