I’ve been following Eric Smothers' case since the news broke, and it's been weighing heavy on my mind. It's truly unsettling knowing that his family is still waiting for answers after everything they’ve already been through. It’s frustrating that even with all the advancements in forensic tech, it's the human element that seems to stall progress sometimes. My heart really goes out to his loved ones for living with this day in and day out.
I recently read an article discussing increased community initiatives to foster better trust between residents and law enforcement. This sounds like a step in the right direction, especially in cases like Eric’s where community input is so vital. I was just reading about Eric Smothers and can’t stop thinking about his family and what they must be going through. It's so tough knowing that he was just one of several victims during that tragic month. February 2017 sounded like a nightmare for so many families in Jacksonville. I know that there's ongoing investigation work, but still no arrests just feels so frustrating. It’s like these cases get cold so fast.
