I was reading about the Fernand Martin case from 1964, and one detail that stands out is his use of the alias Fernand Boutin. It's intriguing why someone would use an alias, especially in such a remote location like Pakashkan Lake. Could "Boutin" have been a name known to those around the area? Maybe there's a history or connection to that name which might clue us into why he chose it. Perhaps he had a complicated past or simply used it for privacy reasons while working the traplines. Has anyone come across any information or theories about why he might have used this alias? Just curious if this has been discussed or if anyone else finds it as peculiar as I do.
