Hey everyone, I’ve been doing a deep dive into old missing persons cases and came across Geoffrey Wilson MacGibbon's disappearance from Toronto in 1978. Something that's really stuck out to me is the possibility of how his mental health could have played a role in his vanishing. We know he was living with schizophrenia and had been in care facilities across both Canada and the US. Could this mean he might have ended up in another facility unnoticed? Or perhaps he switched identities believing he was someone else entirely due to his condition? It feels like this is an angle that should’ve been looked into more thoroughly. Has anyone come across similar cases where schizophrenia played such a direct role in someone going missing? Let’s see if we can brainstorm some fresh leads or find similar stories that might give us any clues about what could’ve happened to Geoffrey.
